The World's Best Dog Friendly Hotels in 2026

The 2026 Canine Hospitality Awards name the seven hotels that welcome dogs better than anyone else on earth, from the Hotel of the Year in Miami to a thirty-nine room house in Florence.

Every Wednesday evening on the Bayside Terrace of the InterContinental Miami, the market stalls go up, the cool-down fountains come on, and the dogs of downtown Miami arrive for Paws Patio with their owners a step behind. It has become the city's dog party, and it is one reason the hotel has just been named Hotel of the Year in the 2026 Canine Hospitality Awards, the annual honours Roch Dog gives to the hotels that welcome dogs better than anyone else on earth. Seven hotels won this year, in Miami, Huntington Beach, London, Aspen, Miami Beach and Florence.

The awards are not a vote and not a shortlist drawn up over lunch. Every hotel in the Roch Dog directory is graded on more than seventy verified points, from where a dog may go on the property to what is waiting for it in the room, and the winner in each category is simply the highest score, checked in person before the name goes on the page. No hotel can pay to win, and the class of 2026 holds its title for one year only, after which the whole field is scored again.

Hotel of the Year: InterContinental Miami

The InterContinental is a tower over Biscayne Bay in downtown Miami, with a palm lined baywalk at its feet and a dog park across the street. It holds first place on the Roch Dog global leaderboard for the second year running, and it won Hotel of the Year because the welcome does not stop at the bedroom door. Every one of its rooms takes dogs, there is no weight limit, and your dog is welcome in the bar, on the terrace, through the public areas and into the garden.

A chef prepared canine menu comes to the room, with a Pampered Pup Chicken Plate of organic chicken and raw carrots and a Luxe Pup Steak Bowl of chopped steak. Rocco, the hotel's own canine concierge, answers messages day and night with the nearest dog beach, a walk route or an emergency vet. The hotel keeps a vet on call and a formal partnership with Chewy Vet Care, and then there is Wednesday, when the Bayside Terrace fills with dogs.

Best Canine Menu: Paséa Hotel & Spa, Huntington Beach

Paséa Hotel & Spa stands just off the Pacific Coast Highway with the Huntington Beach sand below its glass balconies, and it hands your dog a menu. Best Canine Menu rewards a kitchen that cooks for dogs as seriously as it cooks for people, and at Lōrea, Paséa's oceanfront restaurant, the dog's card runs to a Barkuterie Board and a steak tartare, each dish arriving at the table like anything else on the order.

The welcome beyond the table is as generous. Dogs are allowed in the bar, the restaurant, the lounge and on the terrace, a bed, bowls and treats are waiting in the room, there is a dog park on the property, and Surf City's boardwalk and Huntington Dog Beach are a few minutes' walk from the door.

Best Canine Concierge: The Lanesborough, London

At Hyde Park Corner, The Lanesborough gives your dog its own concierge. The Oetker Collection house runs a dedicated Pet Concierge that books the groomer, arranges the walks and looks after whatever else a dog might need during a stay, and that service is what Best Canine Concierge recognises: the people who will do the most for the dog in room 12.

Every room is dog friendly and dogs stay free. Your dog arrives to bespoke bedding, its own bowls and a welcome treat, and it can join you for a drink in The Withdrawing Room or The Library Bar. Tell the team about a particular diet, a medication or a birthday, and it is handled. Hyde Park begins across the road, which settles the question of where to walk before breakfast.

Most Pampered Pup: The Cadogan, London

Across town on Sloane Street, The Cadogan, a Belmond hotel in Chelsea, indulges a dog like nowhere else in London. Its partnership with Pet Pavilion, the city's most celebrated groomer, runs from a bath and blow dry to a dog facial and a manicure and pedicure. In the room your dog finds Pet Pavilion bowls and bedding, treats and toys, and a menu of homemade dinners that the butler brings up.

Dogs stay free, and the hotel has private access to Cadogan Place Gardens directly across the road, so the leafy walk before dinner is part of the address.

The Great Outdoors: Aspen Meadows Resort, Colorado

Aspen Meadows Resort is spread across the forty acre campus of the Aspen Institute, its Bauhaus pavilions set among meadows and aspen groves below the ski runs of Aspen Mountain. Wildflowers and trails in July, snow to the treeline in January, and in either season more ground than a dog could cover in a week. The Great Outdoors goes to the best place to let a dog run off the lead, and forty acres of Rocky Mountain campus won it without much argument.

The welcome inside matches the ground outside. There is no weight limit, dogs are welcome in the bar, the restaurant, the lounge and on the terrace, and the paths lead straight off the lawns into the hills, so the walk after dinner can go as far as you like. The room comes with a bed, bowls, a treat and toys, the resort runs a dog walking service, and its Yappy Hour gatherings on the grounds have become a fixture of Aspen's dog calendar, drawing the local golden retrievers in numbers.

The Rising Star: Loews Miami Beach

Loews Miami Beach sits on the sand at the centre of South Beach, its pool ringed with palms and its rooms facing the Atlantic. A $55 million renovation has just been finished from the lobby to the last oceanfront suite, and with it came a dog programme built from scratch, the most exciting new arrival of the year and the reason it takes The Rising Star.

Your dog is met with a monogrammed bowl, a place mat and a collar tag, with gourmet room service to follow and an emergency vet on call should the need arise. Two dogs are welcome in most rooms with no weight limit, there is a dedicated dog space on the property, the staff are trained for canine guests, and the walks run along the beach and into the parks nearby.

Boutique of the Year: La Gemma, Florence

A short walk from the Duomo, La Gemma has thirty-nine rooms, and in a house that size the staff know your dog's name by the second morning. Marble, brass and hand finished tailoring run through the building, every room is dog friendly with no weight limit, and Boutique of the Year rewards exactly this kind of hotel, small enough that no dog is ever a stranger.

Your dog arrives to a bed, bowls, dog food and treats, with a toy for the room, and the team will point you to the best walks in the city, along the Arno and through the squares. Dogs are welcome in the bar, on the terrace and in the lounge, so your dog shares the hotel's social life rather than waiting upstairs.

The seven winners share one thing. None of them treats a dog as something to be permitted. The dog has a bed, a bowl, a place at the bar or on the terrace and somewhere to run, and the people behind the desk know its name. That is what the awards measure, and next year every one of these hotels will have to earn its place again.
