Where to Walk
The woodland walking sits just south of the centre. Centennial Woods Loop is the one most people know, a proper stretch of trees and stream inside the city, and Garvey Woods does the same job on a shorter circuit.
For open ground, the Wheeler Loop and South Burlington Community Gardens combines the walk with the allotments, and Nowland Farm Preserve Trail gives you the fields. The Awasiwi Trail and the Szymanski Trails handle the everyday miles, and the Whale Tail Trail is the short one when the weather has turned and nobody is committing to much.
Where to Eat
Burlington does this well, and the dog is generally part of the arrangement. The Archives Bar and Church Street Tavern cover the drink, and Halvorson's Upstreet Cafe is the long-standing spot for sitting outside and watching the street go past.
