Dog Friendly City Guide: Las Vegas, Nevada

A dog friendly guide to Las Vegas: the Red Rock Canyon trails and city parks, the off-Strip breweries and dog-named hot-dog joints, and the Strip hotels that welcome a dog.

Dog Friendly City Guide: Las Vegas, Nevada
The Las Vegas skyline glowing against the Nevada desert, gateway to Red Rock Canyon and 300 days of sun.

There is more to Las Vegas than the Strip, and a dog finds most of it. Twenty minutes from the neon, Red Rock Canyon opens into desert trail and sandstone, the city parks keep things green, and the Arts District off-Strip has quietly become the place to drink with a dog at your feet. Go in the cooler months, carry water, and the desert does the rest.

Everything below comes from our own verified data, not the booking-site badges that pass for research elsewhere. Each place has been checked as genuinely dog friendly, and the hotels at the end are ranked against the Roch Dog Friendly Standard.

Where to Walk

The escape is Red Rock Canyon, where the Calico Hills, Kraft Mountain and Willow Spring trails wind through red sandstone under the desert sky. Closer in, the city keeps it green and flat: Sunset Park, Mountains Edge Regional Park and the Flamingo Arroyo Trail give you the easy, shaded loops between the heat.

Off-Strip Bars and Breweries

The dog drinks off the Strip, in the Arts District and the suburbs. Able Baker Brewing, Big Dog's Brewing and the Las Vegas Brewing Company pour their own, Beerhaus and 7th & Carson do the downtown patio, and Hennessey's Tavern keeps a stool for the dog.

For the plate, the dog-named Buldogis Gourmet Hot Dogs and Windy City Beefs-N-Dogs do the hot dog, Good Pie and Joe's New York Pizza the slice, and Rollin Smoke Barbeque the brisket.

Where to Stay

Which leaves the bed, and on the Strip a few of the giants make the cut. The Bellagio and Caesars Palace lead the certified list on a B, with Paris and The LINQ behind them, each rated and reviewed so you know what the welcome is worth before you book.

The full list of certified dog friendly hotels in Las Vegas shows how every one was ranked, and what that ranking buys you and your dog.
