Horsetooth Reservoir sits above it on the western edge, the Poudre River runs through it, and the foothills start close enough that a dog can be on rock within twenty minutes of leaving the house. It is unhurried, outdoorsy and built at a scale where the walk matters more than the parking.

Where to Walk
Horsetooth is the headline. Horsetooth Falls is the walk most people do first, with the Horsetooth Falls Loop Trail turning it into a proper circuit, and the South Ridge and Horsetooth Rock Trail Loop taking you up to the rock formation the whole place is named after.
For the longer day, Arthur's Rock to Howard Trail Loop links the two big names, and the Howard Trail and South Ridge and Audra Culver route carry on into the quieter ground. Reservoir Ridge Trail and the Overlook Trail via Foothills Trail give you the ridgeline without the full commitment.
Down in town, the Fort Collins Poudre River Trail is the flat one that runs the length of the city, and the River Ponds Trail Loop is the short water circuit for an evening when nobody has the legs for a climb.
